Daniel Findlay is based in Sydney, Australia where he has been writing professionally for over fifteen years. Dan is a historian by training but usually writes about music, food and pop culture for titles including Rolling Stone and The Sydney Morning Herald. A fan of post-apocalyptic tales such as The Road and Riddley Walker, in 2015 Dan adventured to the site where Australia tested nuclear weapons in the 1950s and the idea for a novel set in Australia after the end of the world took shape. Dan has also played a LOT of Fallout, loves his cat Stormz and is discovering the joys of house plants.Year of the Orphan is his debut novel and has been described as Mad Max meets The Road.
