About the Author

I currently spend my days working in an elementary school library filled with students like the ones you'll meet in Catching the Moon and in the Carlos and Carmen early chapter book series, published by ABDO Publishing. I gained my expertise bottle feeding lambs, harnessing horses, and running from roosters while working at a summer camp, and my pro-wrestling knowledge is courtesy of a black and white TV equipped with rabbit ears and a large piece of aluminum foil. I've explored seas, lakes, and swamps all over the world, and although I haven't yet gone swimming with a Benvarry or discovered a ghost guarding treasure, I keep hoping. My most recent manuscript is The Secrets of Sweetgum Swamp -- a middle grades novel that's part ghost story and part treasure hunt, and I'm currently working on the fifth set of Carlos and Carmen adventures, which ABDO Publishing will release in December 2018.
