About the Author

Ben Fisher

Ben Fisher is a Ringo-nominated, best-selling author of comic books and prose. Although he has written across a wide spectrum of genres, each of his works is connected by a common thread of hope and humanity, relayed with unmistakable dry wit. Ben grew up in rural North Carolina where he discovered a love of fiction through the models of Harryhausen, the panels of Kirby, and inside dragon-filled dungeons. He broke into comics by winning a Viper Comics competition and followed that up with a series of graphic novels, including "Smuggling Spirits" and "Hexen Hammers."His series, "The Great Divide," garnered widespread critical praise for its unique spin on the post-apocalypse, and his WebToons comic "Ladybird, Ladybird" was included in ComicCon's "Best Webcomic of 2017."The first volume of his "Underfoot" graphic novel series was nominated for a 2020 Ringo Award. After his nephews complained they weren't allowed to read his books, Ben wrote stories for "The Misadventures of Grumpy Cat & Pokey" which has sold over 100,000 copies.Ben currently resides in Portland, Oregon with his cat and an increasingly unwieldy collection of board games. When things get too quiet, he writes and records music under the name Tesla Deathray Survivors Anonymous.
