Diane Ryan

Diane Ryan, a native New Yorker, received her undergraduate degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Nazareth College of Rochester, and worked with children with communication disorders for four years. After post-graduate study in language development, Diane changed career direction and received accreditation in marketing and public relations from the State University of New York at Buffalo.Following a diverse 20-year career in advertising and public relations, Diane returned to her roots after discovering research about the benefits of communicating with hearing babies through sign language. In 2001 she founded KinderSigns in Orlando, Florida where she conducted seminars and workshops for parents, lectured at area hospitals and universities, and spoke at child development conferences. Her local success led to the creation of kindersigns.com and brought KinderSigns to an international audience while living in Kinsale, Ireland. During that time Diane appeared on Irish radio and television and was a frequent guest on BBC radio and TV while conducting workshops throughout Ireland and the UK.To date, thousands of parents and professionals from over 60 countries have learned the KinderSigns technique. In 2002, Diane established the KinderSigns affiliate network which teaches others how to start a successful baby sign language business in their own community.Currently Diane lives outside Tampa with her husband Bob. She remains a self-proclaimed evangelist on the benefits of signing with hearing babies.
