Jeanne is an author, blogger, writer, editor, mother, and registered nurse. She's Senior Writer for Every Mother Counts, a global maternal health advocacy organization. She has more than 25 years experience working as a registered nurse in obstetrics, labor and delivery and neonatal care. She's been writing professionally since 2002, contributing articles about women's and maternal health, medicine, food, feminism, travel and lifestyle issues to many magazines, newspapers and websites. She has written Fit Pregnancy's award-winning "Ask the Labor Nurse" blog for eight years. She co-authored the book, The Complete Illustrated Birthing Companion (Quayside Press, 2013) and wrote Commonsense Pregnancy (Ten Speed Press, 2015) , which comes out this spring. Jeanne talks about motherhood from a reassuring and feminist perspective and from the viewpoint of one who has raised a houseful of children through the challenges of 21st century parenthood. She's passionate about advancing the conversation on global and domestic women's health and equity issues. She's raising awareness and taking action on maternal mortality and birth conditions for women in developed and developing countries.
