Karen Petty

Karen Petty, PhD, is a Professor in early child development and education at Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. She has over twenty years of experience teaching and caring for young children and conducting trainings and workshops in early childhood. She has been a consultant, curriculum writer, and trainer for staff who work with kids on U.S. military bases, has many publications in peer-reviewed journals, and served as editor of Early Years, the journal for Texas Association for the Education of Young Children. Karen received her PhD in curriculum and instruction with emphases in early childhood and child development from Texas A&M University.
