About the Author
Lauren Purje is a Brooklyn-based artist and illustrator. She grew up in Dublin, Ohio and graduated from Ohio University in 2009 with a BFA in Painting. Purje has been a regular contributor to the popular art-blog Hyperallergic since 2012, where her series of autobiographical comic strips began being published online bi-weekly. Her work draws inspiration from her own art practice and from the handful of jobs she has worked in NY including an art supply store, multiple art studios, and at a Chelsea gallery.
