Crystal Watanabe

A 37-year-old wife and mother of three children, Crystal Watanabe is the author of the bento blog Adventures in Bentomaking. Born and raised in the small town of Hilo, Hawaii, Crystal now lives with her family in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she makes lunches for herself and her family, time permitting.

Known online as "Pikko" from the online MMORPG Final Fantasy XI, Crystal has been making bento since 2007. Her first cookbook, written with Japanese obento maker Makiko Ogawa, was published by Quirk Books in June 2010.

Now a freelance editor for independent authors, Crystal also runs the Hunger Games fansite Jabberjays.net and co-founded The Geeky Pub, a review fansite for geek culture.
