About this item

Recommended by N.S., Brunswick Library. This is a fascinating memoir told by a young Korean woman. The first part tells of her childhood in North Korea and offers a very personal and detailed view into this isolated, barbaric country. The next two parts talk about her life after escaping her homeland. It's absolutely riveting reading and so hard to fathom how this young teen survived the life events thrown at her. It's an inspirational story of courage, family, survival and personal strength. If you like memoirs, you will want to add this to your list. And even if you don't normally read memoirs, you may want to pick this up because you won't be able to put it down.
