About the Author
Randall Sanger is a West Virginia based Landscape Photographer, Author and Workshop Instructor. Through his photography, Randall's ultimate desire is to glorify God's creation and showcase the natural beauty of West Virginia, and inspire others to preserve and protect the many special places found in the Mountain State.
For over thirty years Randall has been traipsing about West Virginia and beyond in search of grand vistas, majestic waterfalls and intimate forest scenes. By design, he spends most of his time exploring and photographing the amazingly beautiful scenery found in the New River Gorge National River, the Monongahela National Forest, the Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge and the various state parks and wildlife management areas throughout West Virginia. Randall also enjoys photographing and exploring in the mountains of Kentucky and Virginia, along with the mountains and coastal areas of North Carolina.
Randall is the coauthor of the multi-award winning book: West Virginia Waterfalls: The New River Gorge and his newest title, Waterfalls of Virginia and West Virginia, will be released in 2018. He conducts photography workshops in West Virginia, Virginia and the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Randall's images have appeared in print and digital publications, are in private and corporate collections and have been licensed for various advertising and marketing campaigns. His free-lance work for numerous entities has seen him cover events such as the National Boy Scout Jamboree to capturing specific images for a National Park Service campaign. In 2010, Randall was selected as Photographer in Residence for the Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge. He is a Juried Fine Arts Photographer with Tamarack: The Best of West Virginia, located in Beckley, and his work can also be viewed at the Buxton and Landstreet Gallery in Thomas, WV. Randall resides in Williamson with his wife Melissa, their daughter Hannah and his trusty hiking companion Rocky, their mixed-breed dog.
