Dr. Robynne Chutkan M.D.

Dr. Chutkan is the author of the recently published book Gutbliss (Penguin 2013) . She went to Yale undergrad and Columbia medical school, where she also did her internship and residency and served as chief resident. Her gastroenterology training was at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. A faculty member at Med Star Georgetown Hospital since 1997, in 2004 she founded the Digestive Center for Women, an integrative practice that incorporates nutritional optimization, exercise physiology, biofeedback and stress reduction as part of the therapeutic approach to digestive disorders.Dr. Chutkan makes frequent guest appearances on The Dr. Oz Show and is a member of their medical advisory board. In addition to regular local network appearances, she has also made national appearances on The Today Show, The Early Show, and The Doctors. Washingtonian magazine has consistently named her one of the top physicians in her field.In 2010 Dr. Chutkan founded Gutrunners (www.gutrunners.com) , a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving digestive health through nutrition and exercise. On a personal note, she speaks fluent Spanish and French, is an avid marathon runner and snowboarder and enjoys Vinyasa yoga.
