Meet award winning celebrity crafter Marisa Pawelko, author of the groundbreaking how-to craft book "Crazy Cool Duct Tape Projects". Armed with a formal education in furniture design, Marisa used her talents to design products for the gift, toy, fashion, jewelry and decorative accessory markets before turning her focus to the craft industry. In 2005, sparked with an idea to create a recycled baby memento-keeper out of one of her son's baby food jars, she founded Modern Surrealist™ which quickly developed an international following.Marisa is the spokesperson for Westcott® Brand (aka The World's Favorite Scissors™) , Rowlux® Illusion Film and an official brand ambassador for Duck Brand® Duct Tape. Her unique promotional skills and stylish design aesthetic have been used to highlight many of the world's top brands including but not limited to: VELCRO® Brand, SYROFOAM® Brand, Hasbro®, Wonka®, Disney® and Barbie®. In 2014 Marisa joined the Sizzix® group of licensed designers and debuted her unique collection of 20 steel rule dies for Sizzix® at the CHA Mega Show, where they were honored by the Craft and Hobby Association's prestigious HOT 20 Award's title of the "most creative crafting products of the year" and featured on NBC's Today® show.
