About this item

Children can quickly master basic crochet stitches with this cheery book that features simple language and clever animal cartoon characters. Excellent step-by-step instructions with photos take young beginners from crocheting chains to learning single and double crochet techniques - and then they are off to squares, circles, and half trebles. Projects along the way include a striped toy cat, a small stuffed bear, a cute bag, and a bunch of fabulous flowers. A section called When Things Go Wrong offers humorous advice about dropped stitches, sewing troubles, and other frustrations.

About the Author

Lucinda Guy

Warmth, colour and humour are vital elements in Lucinda's work, and her designs are a delightful blend of quirky and sweet motifs for children, and more traditional, folk inspired designs for adults. She currently specialises in Northern, Scandinavian and Baltic hand knitting, nålbindning and crochet techniques and enjoys traveling to research the knitting and textile cultures, yarn and folk history of these areas. Lucinda's latest book Kids Learn to Stitch is the third in the hugely popular Kids Learn to series created in collaboration with Francois Hall, that includes Kids Learn to Knit and Kids Learn to Crochet, both of which continue to receive fabulous reviews.
