About the Author

Jennifer Shea

Jennifer Shea has been a baker and dessert-maker extraordinaire ever since she leveraged her grandma's favorite pumpkin roll recipe into 4-H ribbons as a little girl. Over time, she became the trusted yumminess go-to for friends, baking up countless confections for baby showers, birthday parties and weddings. Ultimately, Jennifer combined her personal and professional baking passions with a nutrition degree from Bastyr University. At Bastyr, she did not become a sworn enemy of all things sweet. Rather, she learned the importance of quality ingredients - a trademark that infuses her baking today.

In 2007, Jennifer and her husband Michael Williamson flipped on the vintage schoolhouse lights at their first Trophy shop in Wallingford Center - and Seattleites began lining up for Trophy's mouthwatering masterpieces. Customers and press praised Jennifer's cupcakes, and Martha Stewart lauded them as "utterly delicious" when Jennifer appeared on Martha's show in 2008. Her cupcakes have also been featured in Vanity Fair and Sunset Magazine and on The Food Network. Trophy has been voted "Best Cupcake Shop" for four years running by Seattle Magazine, who recently named Jennifer #21 in the "Top 70 Power Players of the Seattle Food World".

Five more Trophy locations (University Village, Pacific Place, CenturyLink Field, Husky Stadium and The Bravern in Bellevue) , and a five-year-old son (Fleetwood) later, Jennifer runs around a lot these days. In her "spare" time, Jennifer can be touring in support of her new book (Trophy Cupcakes and Parties!, Sasquatch, September 2013) and dreaming up and testing exotic cupcake flavors like Orange Almond Rose and Lavender Crème Brûlée - adding to her endlessly creative, delectable desserts.
