About the Author

Joseph C. (Joe) Mitchell (1948-) lived in Richmond, VA most of his life but is now a resident of Florida. He was an award-winning wood craftsman in high school, served in the US Marine Corps (1966-1970) , attended VA Commonwealth Univ. (BS Biology) , Arizona St. Univ. (MS Zoology) , and Univ. Tennessee Knoxville (PhD Ecology) . He is a herpetologist and a certified Senior Ecologist with the Ecological Society of America. He is independent and makes his living on contracts and consulting as a herpetologist and conservation biologist. His books thus far have all been on reptiles and amphibians.
