Norm Barnhart first picked up a magic wand when he was five years old. My dad brought home a few magic tricks and He says, "I kept practicing, and in Junior High and High school I developed my own comical magic style. I loved to make people laugh with my magic tricks."
Norm performed at banquets, parties, fairs, festivals and even the Paul Bunyan Amusement Park for 10 years and Knott's Camp Snoopy over a dozen times. For over 28 years Norm has presented a fun and motivational magic show in schools that gets kids excited about reading. "Reading is so important to happiness and success in life, so I do all I can to encourage young readers." This show has taken Norm on Tours doing up to 14 schools a week across the US in all 50 states.
"I discovered that magic brings joy and smiles to everyone." After college, Norm became a full time professional magician doing around 300-375 shows per year. Since then Magic has taken Norm across the US and to 5 other countries - Canada, Mexico, Haiti, China, Japan. Norm says, "I love to see my friend's faces light up when I present a cool trick. You'll have fun doing magic too!"
Norm won first place in America's Funniest Magician Contest in Las Vegas in 2007. He also won the 1st Place - People's Choice Award at the World Clown Association Convention in Alaska. He teaches other magician his tricks and inventions at conventions of magicians and entertainers. This year he taught in Daytona Beach, Fl, Norfolk, VA, Williamsburg, VA, Indianapolis, IN and Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Most recent appearances have taken him to teach other magicians and perform in Manitoba and Ontario Canada as well as nearly 2 weeks Singapore in July 2010. He will be teaching his magic and comedy techniques coming up in Indiana, New York, Connecticut and San Fransisco. Most of his appearances keep him close to home in Minnesota.
Norm Specializes in close-up magic for corporate events as well as stage shows for fairs festivals, and special events. He also blends magic into motivational speaking for corporate and high school audiences.
