Jean Rawitt is a freelance writer, and a consultant for the Department of Volunteer Services at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Following careers as an executive in book publishing, marketing, public relations, and fundraising, she turned her interest to volunteer service, and, over more than twenty years at Mount Sinai Hospital, developed, coordinated, and supervised a series of volunteer programs, including the Varsity Volunteer Corps, a program for high school student volunteers. Jean is also a long-time member of the Board of Directors of Birch Family Services, a leading provider of early childhood and school-age education, residential, and community services for people with autism and developmental disabilities.
