Sarah Maizes started her career in writing/publishing as an assistant at the William Morris Agency in New York City, where she was involved in literary projects by comedic luminaries such as Bill Cosby, Paul Reiser and Jerry Seinfeld. She went on to build, and be the Director of, WMA's Kid's Entertainment business.In 1997 she moved to LA to become Vice President of Development for Nelvana Animation; later moving to King World to be VP of Development for their animation division (working with the producers of "Ren & Stimpy"), and eventually landing at Mattel where she wrote, developed and produced entertainment for Fisher Price and Barbie. After the birth of her second and third children (twins) she left the corporate world with plans to stay at home and write in her free time.After a year at home with three children under the age of four, she came up with a new plan and took up improv at the Acme Comedy Theatre in Los Angeles, where she was a company member on both the improv and sketch comedy sides. Sarah also performs stand-up comedy and has appeared at "The Comedy Store" in Hollywood; "The Improv" in West Hollywood; and "Stand-Up New York". (The videotape of her "Comedy Store" performance was a #1 Featured Comedy Video on YouTube.com and had hits from over 120,000 viewers in 3 days. Very exciting stuff for a stay-at-home-mother-of-three!)Sarah is the founder and editor-in-chief of MommyLiteOnline.com (www.MommyLiteOnline.com) a parenting humor blog, and a regular contributor to CBS/LosAngeles.com's "Best of LA/Families" section, Momtourage.com, and HybridMom.com. Her work has also appeared in Los Angeles Magazine, on More.com, DivineCaroline.com and Shine! by Yahoo.Sarah has appeared on ABC News Now's "Moms Get Real with JuJu Chang"; NPR's "Tell Me More with Michel Martin" and on the popular Podcast "What Would Rob Do?" She also appeared in the sold-out, well-reviewed show, "Expressing Motherhood."Sarah is also the creator and co-author of The Bridesmaid's Guerrilla Handbook, published by Berkley Books.Her first children's book, "On My Way to the Bath" will be published by Walker Books in Spring 2012.Sarah currently lives in Los Angeles with her three children, four fish and two very fat guinea pigs.
