About this item

Blogs, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Wikipedia...there are endless sources for information on the Internet. But who can you trust to give you the truth? The catch-all of "fake news" has journalists, politicians, and information junkies alike worried about integrity, veracity, and legitimate sourcing. This collection of authoritative but diverse viewpoints tackles what constitutes fake news, where the term originated, and how it is often used to further politicize the media. Readers will also find discussions of propaganda and whether information disseminated by the American government is the only "real" news.

About the Author

Kathryn Roberts

It is fascinating to me that something as abstract as a feeling or emotion can be put into print form and then magically produce the same emotion when a reader reads. Bringing life to the horsey people I know and love is exciting for me and I can't wait to share heroes and heroines who live the code of the West in today's fast-paced world.I was born in South Dakota but now lives in California. I've been a horse nut from the word go, and have always been involved in some sort of horsey activity from 4-H leader, to Queen coordinator for California High School Rodeo, to team roping with her husband.I graduated with a degree in agriculture from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, but my love of writing has led me to a Commendation by the California State Office of Emergency Services for formalizing techniques and practices in mounted search and rescue and a regional service award from the Romance Writers of America.Whether I'm teaching beginners to ride, or teaching them to work a cow or rope, I keep an eye out for interesting things to write about. Of course, all my heroes are cowboys, all my women are strong, and all my romances have traditional values at heart.
