About the Author

Kay Kenyon

I've always wanted to write fiction. One of my first creative efforts in school was a series of newsletters written by someone in Macbeth's castle whose job it was to report on the doings of the king. The articles were dark and bloody and really great fun. I've been writing ever since. The work can be dark and bloody, for sure. (At least the fiction.) After 15 published novels, I recently finished a trilogy, The Dark Talents novels, beginning with AT THE TABLE OF WOLVES. The series features a woman who deals with dark Talents, Nazi conspiracies, and espionage in 1936 England. The series has been optioned for film. I was inspired to write this series by the stories of the many women spies, radio operators and resistance fighters in the world wars. Other fantasy novels include QUEEN OF THE DEEP and A THOUSAND PERFECT THINGS. My science fiction novels include THE SEEDS OF TIME, MAXIMUM ICE and a story collection, DYSTOPIA: SEVEN DARK AND HOPEFUL TALES. I'm a founding member of Write on the River (Wenatchee, WA) , and teach online there and for the Rambo Academy of Wayward Writers as well as at PNWA, Write on the Sound (Edmonds WA) and other conferences. I love the writing life. It's full of ups and downs, for sure, but there is always the story Right Now. It's the best life I can imagine, and I'm grateful to have it.
