Hi! I'm Mike Austin. I'm an illustrator and graphic designer. I'm the author and illustrator of numerous children's books including Monsters Love School and Monsters Love Colors (published by Harper Collins) , Fire Engine No. 9 and Rescue Squad No. 9 (published by Penguin Random House) , Junkyard (Published by Beach Lane Books/Simon & Schuster) , and the digital children's book app A Present for Milo (Ruckus Media) which has garnered raves and recognition from NPR, USA Today, MSNBC and more. I also had alot of fun illustrating Nellie Belle, by Mem Fox and the fishy tale of Henny, Penny, Lenny Denny and Mike by Cynthia Rylant (Beach Lane Books/Simon & Schuster) . "Wow!!!!!!" you say. "How do you do it? !"Coffee. Lots of coffee........and surfing........and rock climbing....and cutting the grass.I've created artwork for the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, American Express, The US Government, universities and colleges, Boys' Life magazine, Reader's Digest, and a whole bunch of other great clients. I currently live on Whidbey Island in the Pacific Northwest with my wife, illustrator and musician Jing Jing Tsong (illustrator of the New York Times Best-Selling Children's book "A Bucket of Blessings") , and a smelly dog named Prudence.
