Successful hair and makeup artist Bernadette Fisers struggled with her weight for years. She tried and failed many diets, but her life took a turn when her weight crept up to 287 pounds and her BMI, to 42. My name is Bernadette Fisers and I am an Australian mom and a hair and makeup artist. I've been in the fashion industry for more than 20 years - travelling internationally to work with celebrities and models. My financially challenged upbringing has given me my drive and ambition - when it comes to work.
But despite achieving my goals in the fashion and beauty world, I've not been so successful with my body! Things came to a head when I weighed in at a massive 128.4kilos - 283 pounds, with a BMI of 42, which is morbidly obese. I had a fatty liver, hypertension (high blood pressure) and pre-diabetes.
I absolutely had to do something new. Nothing I tried before had worked long-term: I always regained weight - more than what I had started with. Completely depressing.
So I began experimenting. I interviewed the models I work with about their health habits and researched medical reports until I found one thing that worked. Piece by piece I added to the weight-loss puzzle, until I had a killer combination of weight-loss techniques. They're safe, easy to do and - crucially - absolutely the fastest way of losing weight. It's a revelation.
