About the Author

Michelle Bisson

Hedy's Journey is the story of my mother's journey as a 16-year-old girl traveling alone across Europe--through Germany!--in the middle of WWII. She managed to reunite with her family in Portugal and eventually made it to America. I am her daughter. I am a long-time editor of children's books, an erstwhile award-winning journalist, book reviewer, and playwright, and a fervent reader. This is my first children's book, beautifully illustrated by El primo Ramon.
