About the Author

Chrissie Nelson Rotko is the writer and photographer behind the popular food and travel blog, Off the Eaten Path, which she initially created in 2013 to combine her love of food and writing. Her work on Off the Eaten Path has been recognized both locally and nationally by a variety of outlets and publications, including Zagat and Charlotte Magazine. Chrissie also teaches classes about blogging and social media, and has appeared regularly on local television.In addition to running her foodie business, Chrissie works full-time as an Assistant Public Defender, where she enjoys working one-on-one with clients, representing them in court and being a part of the passionate and dedicated community her colleagues have created. She graduated from Lawrence University and the University of Wisconsin Law School before moving to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she lives with her husband, AJ; rescue dog, Bodie; and four cats: Phoebe, Mr. Kitty, Brett Favre and Princess. When she's not writing or taking photos of her kitchen creations, Chrissie loves visiting local restaurants and craft breweries, traveling, taking weekend road trips with AJ and Bodie, hanging out with her family and friends, and spending time outdoors, especially at the beach.
