About this item

Adventures in Dealing with Everyday Struggles, Getting Help, and Doing Just Okay SometimesJust Peachy is a comic series that explores what the day-to-day is like with depression and/or anxiety. The all-too-real cartoon protagonist gives readers a character to empathize with, and helps explain some of the not often talked about consequences and symptoms of having depression. The comics also explore the themes of heartbreak, finding love, dealing with stress, and capturing the magical moments in life that keep us going. Through dark humor and cute illustrations, the subject matter becomes a bit more bearable, allowing for honest discussion about things like treatment and getting through anxiety attacks, and providing some comfort in times of struggle. For anyone affected by mental illness, Just Peachy shows that you are not alone. Simply put, this is an encouraging collection of comics about being just okay sometimes.

About the Author

Holly Chisholm

Holly Chisholm is the artist of Just Peachy Comics, and is currently living in Phoenix, AZ with her boyfriend Matt, a puppy named Bubbles, two dwarf hamsters and a cranky cockatiel named Larry. I was diagnosed with depression and ADHD in December of 2016. My therapist suggested I try journaling. I hate journaling.I have been drawing since I was a child, but had fallen out of the habit. This comic was my compromise between drawing an journaling; it helped me record how I was feeling at the time and work through some of the darkness. At first it was scary to put my deepest thoughts and fears out in the open, but the responses and messages of support from people made me realize how much it was needed to talk about mental health. After about 6 months of making these, I decided to quit my job and freelance part time so that I can dedicate more time to making and promoting Just Peachy. In the future I am hoping to make a book, and would love to be able to do this full time, while raising awareness about mental health and my personal struggle with depression.
