About the Author

Lynne Garner

Lynne has written for as long as she can remember. During her early teens she wrote stories mixing mystery with the paranormal. These works are now hidden in the loft under a pile of thick dust. Exams then 'proper' jobs interrupted her writing ambitions until the urge to write resurfaced in her early 30's. Working as a lecturer she realised she could earn an extra income by using her class handouts as a basis for magazine features. So Lynne contacted a number of UK based craft magazines. Within a couple of months her first three-page craft column appeared in Popular Crafts magazine. Spurred on by this success Lynne decided to set herself the challenge of getting a book published. She succeeded in 1999 when The Guild of Master Craftsmen published her first book 'Rubber Stamping with Other Crafts.'

After her 13th non-fiction book was published Lynne set herself a new challenge, to get a picture book published. In 2007 she succeeded when Piccadilly Press published her first picture book 'A Book For Bramble.' This book was inspired by her work with a small local not-for-profit organisation that rescues sick, injured and orphaned hedgehogs. This book has been translated into five languages. Her second picture book 'The Best Jumper' was recorded for the BBC radio channel CBeeBies.

In 2011 Lynne finally published 'Anansi - The Trickster Spider' as an eBook, after working on the project for eight years. This book was followed by a second book 'Anansi Spider - Trickier Than Ever' and a number of picture eBooks.

She fits her current writing projects around walking her dog (who needs a lot of walking) , teaching for a UK based adult education provider and an America based eZine (http://www.wow-womenonwriting.com) who run eCourses in writing.
