Heidi Bond, author of Who's the New Kid?, made national and worldwide headlines in 2012 along with her daughter Breanna in their fight against childhood obesity. Heidi shows readers how she helped her daughter lose weight without fad diets, medication, or surgery, and how other parents can do the same. As a mom who has been in the trenches of childhood obesity for almost a decade, she connects with other parents and children everywhere who are living the same nightmare. She understands the fear and hopelessness that surround this epidemic and the pain of wanting a better life for your child but not knowing what to do or where to start to get there. Heidi lives in Fresno, California with her husband Dan and their children, Breanna and Nathan. They attend The Well Community Church. Heidi enjoys gardening, cooking and creating new recipes, volunteering with Kiwanis, and running (which she never would have believed before the weight loss journey!) . She also speaks about childhood obesity and healthy eating. As a family, the Bonds love helping others by showing that change can and will happen one step at a time.
