About this item

Like that other British TV favorite, Call The Midwife, Downton Abbey has found a special, solid place in our hearts. It was an instant hit when it first came to our screens on PBS in January 2011 and people have been talking about it ever since. Downton Abbey, home of the Crawley family and their servants, depicts a time long forgotten where social standing was everything and etiquette the name of the game. However, the stories that comprise Downton Abbey and which hold so many of us agog, are entirely fictional and figments of Downton's creator and writer, Julian Fellowes', imagination. The stories are interspersed with historical details, backdrops and real life experiences and events. The fact and fiction combine with lavish settings and fine attention to details to keep the viewing public enthralled.
