The focal point of the book is the biographies of the members' ancestors. This volume contains biographies of 155 Civil War soldiers, including one female courier. Ancestors of Tent No. 22's members served in Home Guard county units, U.S. Volunteer artillery, cavalry, and infantry regiments, the six-moth militia, the Missouri State Militia, the Enrolled Missouri Militia, and the Provisional Enrolled Missouri Militia. Each biography follows the subject from birth to death and includes parentage (when known) , siblings, wife (wives) , children, military service, and life work after the service, and burial place (if known) . Many vintage photographs are includes, as well as headstone photographs.
