About the Author
Ann Nyberg is WTNH-TV's longest-serving Anchor/Reporter in station history. Ann anchors the 6 and 10 o'clock nightly newscasts. Ann has been a story-teller her entire life, it all started with a diary her Mother gave her for Christmas when she was just 8 years old, and the rest is history.
Nyberg, nominated for multiple Emmys. She has interviewed the most famous and every day folks, all have a story to tell. Other highlights include assignments to the communist country of Cuba and to the Vatican to cover Pope John Paul II.
Ann has been voted "Best News Anchor" for a decade in "Connecticut Magazine's reader's poll, and hosts her own show which she developed to get people's stories out to the masses in long format, it's online and it's called "NYBERG" and excerpts from the show can be seen twice a week at 10 p.m.
She began her journey in broadcast journalism immediately following graduation from Purdue University, where she earned a degree in journalism. Nyberg worked in Indiana and Oklahoma before making Connecticut her home. She and her husband have three daughters and two dogs, Henry Watson, a rescued Coon Hound and Mr. Trip Meeshu, a Golden Retriever.
Nyberg feels strongly about philanthropy. In 1993, she founded the Toy Closet Program at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Thousands of toys and other items are given to children of all ages upon admittance to the hospital to help ease their trauma.
Ann is all about Connecticut. She is founder of NetworkConnecticut.com and she has a boutique called "Annie Mame" in Madison, Connecticut where she carries many things made in Connecticut and she has a column in Coastal Connecticut magazine about all the gems you will find in the southern New England state.
