Kathy McCoy, Ph.D., is an award winning author of over a dozen books, many of them for or about teenagers. She has also been a psychotherapist in private practice in Los Angeles and an active practice online through VirtualTherapyConnect.com, offering therapy to California clients and life coaching to those who live elsewhere.
A former columnist for Seventeen and a former editor of 'TEEN Magazine, she has written many articles for national magazines, newspapers and professional journals such as Redbook, Readers Digest, The New York Times, Family Circle, Woman's Day, Ladies Home Journal, Glamour, TV Guide and The Journal of Clinical Child Psychology.
A popular guest on national television shows, Dr. McCoy has made numerous appearances on The Today Show, has been featured twice on Oprah, and has appeared on a number of other national and local television and radio shows.
