About this item

While divorce adjustment normally takes about three years, when one is divorcing a narcissist, the battle seems to go on forever. Narcissists do not forgive and forget. They do not move one. The anger can linger for years, causing ongoing court battles, visitation and custody battles, false accusations, unwillingness to deal fairly with financial settlements, and most important, it can cause increasing damage to any children involved. Everyone involved in high-conflict divorce proceedings--spouses, custody evaluators, judges, family law attorneys, mental health professionals--experiences an ongoing sense of frustration and helplessness, but at present there is no system in place for effectively dealing with the unique difficulty narcissists pose. This book fills that gap. Dr. McBride's mission is to present a different way to handle these cases and offer a new protocol for therapeutic strategies and healing.
