"Piano Master for Everyone Level I" provides comprehensive piano instruction for adults who have never played piano or played just a few times, as well as any other student who wishes to enjoy a serious and mature approach to learning the instrument. The instruction method is based on Dr. Hajin Kim's successful experience teaching at Siena Heights University, Michigan State University's Community Music School, and in private lessons. Her approach caters to those beginners who desire an elevated form of piano instruction.The method is unique in its creativity and emphasis both on piano playing and music theory. Dr. Kim understands the students' perspective, an understanding which sometimes eludes professional musicians who teach. While Dr. Kim is a concert level pianist who has performed at Carnegie Hall, she fully understands the needs of students new to the instrument and to music theory.



About the Author

Hajin Kim

Dr. Hajin Kim is currently a piano faculty member at CMS of Michigan State University. She also has serve as an adjunct piano Professor at Siena Heights University.

Born in Seoul Korea, she began her piano studies at age four. At age 6, Dr. Hajin Kim won the first prize of the Yookyoung Piano Competition in Seoul Korea and at age 11 the first prize of the Seoul National Music Competition in South Korea.

Dr. Hajin Kim earned Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance major at Michigan State University where she also received her second Master of Music degree for piano pedagogy as a double major with piano performance major. Dr. Kim earned Master of Music for piano performance major at Sookmyung Women's University in Seoul Korea. She earned Bachelor of Music degree for piano performance at Boston Conservatory in Boston Massachusetts.

Dr. Hajin Kim studied with Professor Moriarty at Michigan State University and Professor Bass at Boston Conservatory. She is an active solo pianist throughout Boston, Seoul, East Lansing, St.John's in Michigan, and Todi in Italy. She has performed at multiple venues including recently successful solo reital at Weil Hall in Carnegie Hall in New York, Yongsan Hall, Sookmyung Hall in Seoul, Seully Hall, Concert Hall in Boston, Cook Hall, Hart Hall, and Music Auditorium in East Lansing and the Centro Studi Carlo Della Giacoma.

She has not only performed as an active soloist but has also participated in chamber recitals and master classes. As a brilliant musician and teacher of piano pedagogy, she has acquired successful teaching experience by giving lessons privately and by teaching the various levels of group class piano. Dr. Hajin Kim will publish a piano textbook, Piano Master for Everyone Level I for the beginner's piano class.
Piano Master for Everyone Level I based on Dr. Hajin Kim's proved curriculum in her adult group piano classes at Michigan State University College of Music Community Music School and Siena Heights University.
