About the Author
Nora Bradbury-Haehl is an author, speaker, and a nationally recognized voice in the conversation about young people and religion. She's been a development editor at Saint Mary's Press and a contributing editor for BustedHalo.com. She writes for Angelus News, the news organization for the Los Angeles Catholic Diocese, the nation's largest and most culturally diverse Catholic community. She's been in youth and young adult ministry for more than 25 years and is involved in interfaith work in her hometown of Rochester, New York. As a church youth worker Nora has spent her life creating and sustaining supportive communities for young people. She has helped them navigate the challenges of adolescence and early adulthood. Nora's book The Freshman Survival Guide emerged from her youth work. A popular article she wrote for BustedHalo.com grew into an online sensation and was downloaded over 30,000 times. This article, and the overwhelming response to it, was the impetus for the book which has now sold over 125,000 copies. Nora is a boundary breaker. She has led multi-religious and interfaith programming for youth and young adults for the last ten years with the Hickey Center for Interfaith Studies and Dialogue at Nazareth College of Rochester. She leads an annual interfaith immersion week for high school and college age young adults and chairs the Global Citizenship Conference, an interfaith gathering for high school students. She was a contributing editor for Busted Halo for ten years and editor and co-creator for their "Young Adult Ministry in a Box" project.
