Detective Frank Vandegraf is familiar with acts of random violence during the committing of a crime; but the street robbery and death of a shady attorney gives him pause, as the victim seems to have been universally despised. As he struggles to make sense of a crime with not enough evidence and too many suspects, he finds he's been assigned a new partner. But before they can acclimatize to each other, the discovery of troubling new information relating to another unsolved assault and robbery will test their ability to work together.
