About this item

The New York Giants joined the National Football League back in 1925, and have since been one of the league’s flagship franchises. The Giants have appeared in nineteen NFL championship games—more than any other team—and have won eight league championships. Iconic figures such as Eli Manning, Phil Simms, Harry Carson, Michael Strahan, and Frank Gifford have all played for the Giants. Twenty-five players who spent at least one full season with the Giants have been inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame, and fifteen of those men spent the majority of their careers playing for the team. This book carefully measures the careers of those players who made the greatest impact on the team. The ranking was determined by such factors as the extent to which each player added to the Giants’ legacy, the degree to which he impacted the fortunes of his team, and the level of dominance he attained while wearing the Big Blue uniform.

About the Author

Robert W. Cohen

Robert W. Cohen was born in the Bronx, New York in 1956. He grew up just a few miles from Yankee Stadium, rooting for the Yankees and New York Football Giants. After spending many years working in a large corporate environment, he began writing professionally in 2004. His first published work, "A Team For The Ages: Baseball's All-Time All-Star Team" clearly reflects his great love of the game of baseball, and also his vast knowledge of the sport. A sports historian, Robert has appeared on numerous sports-talk radio programs around the nation to discuss his previously published works. His first non-sports book was released in December of 2008. A labor of love, "My Life With Rusty" describes the unique 14-year relationship he shared with his first cat, Rusty, who he lost to cancer in February of 2003. Robert returned to his primary area of expertise in his June 2009 release entitled "Baseball's Hall of Fame - Or Hall of Shame? " - the most comprehensive book ever written on the Baseball Hall of Fame. His next work,"MVP," which provides an in-depth look at baseball's Most Valuable Player Award, was released in August 2010. Robert later assumed the position of Content Manager, Editor, and Contributing Writer at the internet website known as TheBaseballPage.com. In addition to writing numerous player bios and various historical articles on the national pastime, Robert reviewed, edited, and managed the website's entire content, including sharing with readers his various player rankings. He has since had approximately 20 other books published, the first of which, "The 50 Greatest Players in New York Yankees History," was released in April of 2012. His next book, "The 50 Most Dynamic Duos in Sports History," was released in November of 2012. He followed that up with "Pro Basketball's All-Time All-Stars: Across The Eras," which was released in February of 2013. Robert subsequently authored "The 50 Greatest Players in St. Louis Cardinals History," which was released in August of 2013. His next two books, "The 50 Greatest Players in New York Giants Football History" and "The 50 Greatest Players in Boston Red Sox History" were both released in the summer of 2014.
