Susanne Matthews was born and raised in Cornwall, Ontario, a small Canadian city on the Canada/U.S. border. She attended Carleton University in Ottawa, where she met her husband. She was a stay-at-home mom for ten years before going back to school and getting her teaching degree from Queen's University. She spent more than thirty years as an educator before committing herself to becoming a published author.
