About the Author

Jennifer Lilya

Jennifer Lilya grew up in Fairfield, CT where she spent countless hours sketching her Barbie dolls. In the present, not much has changed. Barbie, Fashion Plates and 80s pop culture have influenced her love of fashion and art, inspiring her to move to New York City to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology, where she majored in Fashion Illustration. She specializes in fashion illustration painted in acrylics and black ink on paper. The combination of fashion, art and witty hand-lettering gives her pieces a whimsical and modern edge.

Jennifer has been illustrating professionally since 1993. Her love of runway sketching and a traditional, non-digital approach to illustration has garnered her clients such as Dolce & Gabbana, Saks, ELLE, Katy Perry, Barneys NY, Express, Cosmopolitan, Bloomingdale's, Stila, Piperlime, Bergdorf Goodman, Edelman PR, Neiman Marcus among many other brands, fashion designers and publications.

Lilya spends her days in wonderfully different ways - most notably, Earl Grey-fueled "painting parties," which consist of client work, commissions and personal artistic development.

You can also find Jennifer at one of her many events creating custom sketches of guests at high-end department stores, boutiques and private parties in NYC and the Tri-State area.
