About the Author

Brian Wolfe

Identical twins Nick and Brian Wolfe grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida and started their epic journey into the world of special effects makeup by drawing dinosaurs and superheroes when they young and it is that inborn enthusiasm for art and illusion that has fueled their meteoric rise in the world of faceart, body painting and special effects make-up.

In 1998 they brought their considerable talents to Universal Studios Florida, quickly making names for themselves in the industry working in the studio's prosthetic department. They soon met the face painters of Enjoy Your Face Inc., the company that paints in the major theme parks of Florida, California, Pennsylvania, and Osaka, Japan. Taking a cue from their own childhood experiences and passions, the twins soon developed and integrated cool designs specifically for boys bridging the gender gap in the art of face painting.

The Wolfe brothers' classic use of highlighting, shadow, anatomy studies, and 3-D illusions quickly received international attention in 2001 when they were hired as contributing authors to Creative Facepainting. The book has been produced in five languages and was considered the facepainting bible.

In 2004, the Wolfe brothers left Universal Studios and founded their own make-up company, Wolfe Brothers Face Art & FX. Serving as the Artistic Directors for the company, they regularly toured the world to promote their products and teach face and body art techniques.

In 2008, Nick and Brian once again reinvented themselves, leaving the company they founded to embark upon a more freestyle career path. Plying their craft all over the globe under the corporate name Evil Twin FX LLC, the brothers continue to teach workshops on face painting, body painting, special FX make-up, and mask making in Europe, Asia, Australia, and across North America. Most recently, the Wolfe Brothers competed against 40 other countries to win the world champion title at the World Body Paint Festival.

Prolific writers, the Wolfe Brothers also continually contribute to many industry books and publications. Extreme Facepainting, published by North Light Books, is one such work. This 50-face, step-by-step book and DVD combo can be found at most book stores and Internet booksellers and has sold thousands of copies worldwide. The Wolfe Brothers also are regular contributing writers to many periodicals including Illusion, Orlando Magazine, Haunted Attraction Magazine, Make up Artist Magazine, Klutz, Nail and Beauty, and Graftobian.
