About the Author

Cristin Frank

In 2009, Cristin founded The Eve of Reduction, a platform for living simple through reducing debt stress and waste. How does Cristin help you go about that? Through making the most out of what you have - specifically your time, talents and space in your home.

Cristin is best known for upcycling furniture and recycled crafts. Her Halloween sidewalk chalk sculptures made her a PromotionCodes.com Fall 2012 DIY Project Winner. She also came in first place for Apartment Therapy's Best of 2012 Dramatic Transformations for her 1920's child's dresser restoration project.

During the writing of "Living Simple, Free and Happy," Cristin's own mantra of continuous learning and self improvement was put to the challenge when she was tasked with shooting all the photography for her book. Through a weekend spent reading her camera manual cover to cover, and months of coaching from the design staff at her publisher, Betterway Home Books, Cristin came out a confident, published photographer as well as author.

Eve of Reduction's platform continues to attract media attention. Cristin Frank's
story and projects have been featured in Money Magazine, FamilyFun
Magazine, NPR Marketplace Money, CNNMoney.com, HGTV.com, eHow, My Repurposed Life, Mod Podge Rocks blog, iVillage and Apartment Therapy.

Cristin Frank is a professional consultant who works with homeowners looking for a guide to custom upcycling, room repurposing and second-hand shopping. She is also a professional speaker on upcycling, repurposing, eco-practices and DIY design.
