I'm the author of the illustrated histories "Havana Before Castro: When Cuba Was a Tropical Playground," "Palm Springs Holiday: A Vintage Tour From Palm Springs to the Salton Sea," and "Classic Dining: Discovering America's Finest Midcentury Restaurants."
