About this item

This book offers a fresh take on the Victorian notion of expressing oneself with the symbolic language of flowers. Thinking of You offers a soothing array of blooms with empathetic meanings. Each spread features a flower that "flips up" from the page, a brief description of the flower's symbolism, and its special message for the recipient. When all of the blossoms are popped up, the book can be displayed on a desk just like a vase of flowers.

About the Author

Molly Hatch

Born in 1978, the daughter of a painter and an organic dairy farmer, Molly was raised to be creatively industrious - using her imagination and love of drawing to make everything from her collection of idiosyncratic ceramics to furniture to pen-and-ink drawings. Molly's craft is finely honed, her artwork is whimsically literal and pop-culturally on-point.

Working from her home studio, Molly began her career as a studio potter in 2008. Her formal education in ceramics, printmaking and drawing resulted in the development of her signature style. Making artworks inspired by art history, Molly's career as a studio potter quickly garnered a loyal following. In 2010, Molly launched her first tableware collection with great success.

Now, working from her studio in Northampton Massachusetts, Molly's designs have expanded beyond tableware and her one-of-a-kind artwork to a wide range of lifestyle products from stationary to quilting fabrics and more. With three forthcoming books and collaborations with over 15 brand partners, Molly is actively building her collections of home goods to bring her modern yet traditional designs to the contemporary home.

Keith Johnson of Anthropologie and Sundance Channel's Man Shops Globe says:

"One of my favorite people we have worked with over the years has been Molly. She is very artistic and knows how to get something done. I love her hand and I love her style--she references a lot of classic detail and is comfortable and familiar with things from the past. She is clever about incorporating a new idea into something that is very old ... "

Grace Bonney of Design*Sponge says:

"When I think of ceramics, I think of Molly Hatch. She has been my favorite ceramicist since the beginning of Design*Sponge for a number of reasons. First, she combines hand-drawn elements with clay (Love) . Second, she has a love of decorative arts history (something we all love around the D*S office) . Third, she happens to be as incredibly cool, funny and smart as I thought she would be."

Holly Becker of Decor8 says:

"Ah, Molly Hatch. This lady makes me smile big. What gorgeous work she has produced lately. I remember the first time I spotted her work on Etsy because I fell in love with her finch cups. Her body of work is forever evolving but her unique style is still carried throughout her collections so you can always tell they are authentically Molly."
