When Sasha Silver and her horse, Charm, arrive on the campus of the elite Canterwood Crest Academy, Sasha knows that she's in trouble. She's not exactly welcomed with open arms. One group of girls in particular is used to being the best, the brightest, and the prettiest on the team, and when Sasha shows her skills in the arena, the girls' claws come out. Hi! I'm Jessica Burkhart (Jess) and I just moved to Kentucky from Brooklyn, NY. I was born in 1987 in Nashville, TN and graduated from Florida State University in 2009. I have two adorable kitty roommates: one-eyed Bella and almost-three-legged Bliss. I wrote my first middle-grade novel, TAKE THE REINS, in college and sold it just before graduation at nineteen as part of a four-book deal to Simon & Schuster. I heart: anything sparkly, unicorns, pink, my friends, pens, horses, photography and lip gloss. I used to be an equestrian before I became a writer. I had to stop due to scoliosis. I had a spinal fusion at Shriners Hospital for Children in St. Louis in 2000. In addition to CANTERWOOD, I'm self-publishing a new horse-themed e-book series called WEST COAST PREP.
