Tell Sackett was sitting pretty, with thirty pounds of gold that were mostly his. Maybe that was why when a beautiful raven-haired woman asked to ride with him to Los Angeles, he didn't care that she came with a lot of trouble. A powerful hard ride over the blistering Mojave desert was one third of the trouble. Another third was trackers out for the woman and for his blood.
