Hoping to increase tourism, the residents of Red Jacket, Michigan, are gearing up for the St. Lucy's Day parade and the Pikkujoulu (Little Christmas) festival. When the coveted title of Saint Lucy goes to outsider Liisa Pelonen, folks in the town are riled. But no one anticipates violence, especially not temporary police chief Hatti Lehtinen, owner of the Bait & Stitch shop. So it is a distinct shock when Liisa's lifeless body turns up in the sauna of Arvo Maki's funeral home the evening before the festival.

About the Author

Ann Yost

Ann Yost comes from Ann Arbor, Michigan and a writing family known for its excellent spelling.
After a six-year-stretch at the University of Michigan, she emerged with a degree in English literature then spent the next ten years working for a succession of daily newspapers as a reporter and copy editor. She gave a faithful account of the first year of her marriage in a weekly column titled, "I Did, I Did."

When her husband, an Associated Press newsman was transferred to Washington, D.C., Ann wrote a series of features for the Washington Post including such topics as visiting a potato museum, how to throw a fabulous birthday party, the trauma of working as a substitute teacher and the even greater trauma of working as a Little League umpire.
After publishing six romantic suspense novels, Ann turned to the remote Upper Peninsula of her home state to start a cozy mystery series. Her Finnish-American detective, Hatti Lehtinen, a law school dropout and recreational knitter, made her debut in 2015 in A STITCH IN CRIME. A prequel to Hatti's adventures will be released on May 1 and a sequel is scheduled for release in October.

Fans describe her writing as "elegant" and "fun" with a "snapping good twist at the end."
Ann lives with her retired husband and their enterprising goldendoodle, Toby, in Northern Virginia. She loves to hear from her readers through her website: www.annyost.com.
