About this item

Summer, 1926. Ernest Hemingway and his wife, Hadley, escape the blazing heat of Paris in a villa in the south of France, accompanied by the glamorous and irrepressible Fife, Hadley's best friend. Fife is also Ernest's lover. Hadley is the first Mrs. Hemingway, but neither she nor Fife will be the last. Each thought their love would last forever; each one was wrong. This is a complex portrait of the man behind the legend and the women behind the man.

About the Author

Naomi Wood

Hi! I'm an author living and working in Norwich, UK. I've written three novels: The Godless Boys, Mrs. Hemingway and The Hiding Game. Mrs Hemingway won a Jerwood Prize, and was shortlisted for the International Dylan Thomas Prize. It was also a Richard and Judy bookclub choice. The Hiding Game, set in the Bauhaus in the 1920s, was longlisted for the Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction, and shortlisted for a HWA Gold Crown. My work has been translated into sixteen languages, which is pretty cool. I teach Creative Writing at UEA.
