About this item

In 2005, SFC Joseph Kapacziewski and his soldiers were nearing the end of their tour in Iraq when their convoy was attacked and a grenade shattered his right leg below the knee. After enduring over forty surgeries, his leg wasn't healing. So in 2007, Kapacziewski chose to have it amputated with one goal in mind: to return and serve with his fellow Rangers. One year later, he became the only Army Ranger serving in direct combat with a prosthetic limb.
