Fiona Talbot
Author, consultant, trainer, e-editor.
Fiona Talbot majored in English but also studied Linguistic Science at Reading University in the UK, where one of her lecturers was world-famous linguistics expert, Professor David Crystal.
She enjoyed a high-flying public sector career until a move to the Netherlands in the 1990s brought out the entrepreneur in her. She then co-founded a business consultancy in Rotterdam, helping top-level multinational companies seize the competitive edge through business English as an international marketing language.
Now MD of UK-based TQI Word Power Skills business consultancy, Fiona is a sought-after communication expert (see www.wordpowerskills.com) of international standing. She has added writing successfully for social media to her bow (see http://www.phdinmanagement.org/top-50-management-gurus-worth-following-on-twitter.html ) as writing is the key global business communication tool today.
Her methods (based on the TQI word power skills system) work for every type and size of company the world over - equally for induction programs, workshops, executive mentoring and distance e-support/editing.
Her three-part Better Business English series was published worldwide by Kogan Page in 2009. The three books help readers with writing tasks from the start their career through to senior manager level.
Her latest book, Improve Your Global Business English, builds on the success of the previous book and brings the content firmly into the digital age.
