While drawing inspiration from city living, she's also influenced by the wide open spaces of Texas, where she grew up.Sam writes and illustrates picture books, one-off art books, mindfulness decks and more. Her work is funny, witty, colorful and honest. Her illustration style is a fun mix of modern simplicity and cartooning. She also hand letters almost all of her work, and enjoys the way that words interact with images on the page.Sam lives with her husband and 2 children and an ever-increasing number of house plants. When she's not writing or drawing, you can probably find her riding a bike, reading a book or baking.
