About this item

Generous Mr. Panda is giving away presents to all his animal friends, including a mouse, an octopus, an elephant, and a lemur, but they aren't being very grateful about the gifts they receive. It may be because the presents aren't quite right. Mouse receives a sweater that's too big, and Octopus gets six colorful socks even though he has eight legs. Fortunately, thoughtful little Lemur knows that even if the present isn't perfect, it's the thought that counts most of all.

Just as Mr. Panda introduced good manners in Please, Mr. Panda and the importance of being patient in I'll Wait, Mr. Panda, Thank You, Mr. Panda is a graphic, kid-friendly way of teaching little ones the importance of saying "thank you" and recognizing that it's the thought that counts most of all behind every gift.

About the Author

Steve Antony

After taking redundancy in 2010 from a Swindon call-centre, I decided to pursue my dream job by applying for a place on the Children's Book Illustration MA course at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge.

My 2014 debut, THE QUEEN'S HAT, was a Uni project inspired by a photo I'd chanced upon. It won the Oscar's First Book Prize and was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize. My Shaun the Sheep sculpture, based on THE QUEEN'S HAT, raised £15,000.00 for the Wallace and Gromit Children's Charity, and the book was adapted into a concert by the London Symphony Orchestra. A sequel and a three-quel have since published.

I've written and illustrated several other books, including the popular MR PANDA series; I've illustrated a cover of the FAMOUS FIVE series and adapted Tim Minchin's WHEN I GROW UP into a picture book.

More information on me and my books, including lesson tips and activity sheets, can be found at www.steveantony.com.
